With the early spring, the woodland spring flowers are all blooming ahead of schedule. Trilliums are blooming now, and some plants are already past their prime.

Our Hepatica Cup outing is now moved up to Saturday, May 1, 2010.

We will meet at the picnic area next to the parking lot. Mosquitoes are out too - so I suggest bug spray.

This is the first year we have changed from shooting Hepatica as the subject, to Trillium.

New York Times is trying to get as many people as possible to take a photo of where they are or what they're doing on Sunday morning, May 2, at 11:00 am EST or as close as reasonable to that time. Then, upload the pictures to their gallery and see what other people from around the world have sent in. It's billed as a moment in time of the planet.

The 2010 CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival is approaching quickly. CONTACT is touted as the largest photographic festival in the world, with some 200 venues and more than 200 photographers participating, some with international stature.

Jim's exhibition is titled Beaujolais Villages and consists of black-and white images taken last summer in the villages of the Beaujolais wine district of France. The photographs provide an opportunity to peer inside the villages of the region, providing a perspective that is often overlooked, photographically, in favour of the rolling hills and vineyards.

KW Telescope presents Carl Sagan's COSMOS

KW telescope presents a special screening of an episode of Carl Sagan's world famous series COSMOS.

After this 1 hour long screening you will be invited to attend an astro-photography tutorial in the Twin gallery space. Here you will see telscopes equiped with cameras to capture photos of deep space and a tutorial by Brady Johnson of KW telescope. In the Twin gallery we are hosting a series of photographs from local astrophotographers for the month of May 2010.

Admission is $5.00 (includes screenings and tutorial).
