I don't know if you're familiar with L.S Lowry. He painteds cenes of life in the industrial districts of Northern England during the early 20th century. He had a distinctive style of painting and is best known for urban landscapes peopled with human figures often referred to as "matchstick men". While this is certainly not an urban scene, there is something about this image which made me think instantly of his work.

Thanks for the comments Geoff - from quite some time ago, but i just this morning noticed them. Always nice to realize some of our photos occasionally evoke unanticipated positive responses. I am not familiar yet with Lowrey, but my figures were intentionally abstracted a bit in PS to protect the sensitive Mennonite identity.
